我对弟子的要求和禅友的建议是：要有三种能力，第一要有生活能力，第二要有工作能力，第三要有基本的社会能力。佛教的基本教义是自灯自依自在，必须要有自立自强精神。有精神信仰者要有自己的独立精神和实际能力，而不是随波逐浪。”（本条拆成两个发）
My requirements for disciples and the advice for Shan (Zen) friends are to have three abilities: first, to have life skills; second, to have work skills; and third, to have basic social skills. The basic teachings of Buddhism are to light oneself, rely on oneself, and be at ease with oneself.
